Unrated Play in a Round Robin format

Players attending will sign on to one of three boards corresponding to how you registered;

NOVICE (new players just starting and newer players in their first 3 -4 months of playing)

INTERMEDIATE players who are more experienced and would be evaluated at a 3.0 level

ADVANCED players who would be evaluated at a minimum 3.5 level

Based on the numbers of players in each group the session coordinator will assign the applicable courts and round robin sheet. To make the numbers work out more evenly between skill groups, the session coordinator may ask some players to play in a different skill group, up or down.

Each group of players will take their roster board and applicable round robin sheet out to the courts they have been assigned to by the session coordinator.

Playing

Players arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before start time on game day. Being late will likely mean you have been bumped out of the session and not entered on a roster sheet. It is the players responsibility to confirm with the session coordinator that they have arrived.

If you are unable to play you must cancel your session yourself by 10:00am the same day in order for waitlisted players to have time to come to the session. Late cancellations will incur a play pass deduction

Unrated Play in a Ladder format

A pickleball ladder is a self-leveling format where players start playing at their self-rated skill-level and then they try to move up and down the ladder based on their wins/losses. It is played in a random style in that every game teams switch partners, so there is no dominating teams.

A session coordinator will arrange the players based on skill level to begin this play session. After the each game, winners move up a court (ie. ladder rung), and losers move down a court, then players swap teams before playing the next game. Games are timed and highest points win or first to 11 points. Any extra time after an 11 pt game can be used for a rest break or continued practice/warm up time.

This format ensures consistent, competitive matches by continually adjusting player positions based on their performance throughout the session time.
