Unrated Play

This session is played in a Round Robin format

Players attending will sign on to one of three boards corresponding to how you registered;

NOVICE (new players just starting and newer players in their first 3 -4 months of playing)

INTERMEDIATE players who are more  experienced and would be evaluated at a 3.0 level 

ADVANCED players who would be evaluated at a minimum 3.5  level 

Based on the numbers of players in each group the session coordinator will assign the applicable courts and round robin sheet. To make the numbers work out more evenly between skill groups, the session coordinator may ask some players to play in a different skill group, up or down.

Each group of players will take their roster board and applicable round robin sheet out to the courts they have been assigned to by the session coordinator.

Yellowhead West is excited to offer this Skills Clinics for RATED ONLY Level 3.5 players.  Developing a sound foundation of basic skills with direction from certified coaches is critical to your player development and forward progression to the next level.   An action packed Skills and Drills - Footwork, Footwork, Footwork, Drop Shots Focus (short, medium and long, or better known as 3rd shot drop)

  Participation is limited to 8 Players per Session on First Come First Serve basis. There will be 1 hour of drills followed by 1 hour of guided play. 

 The lead instructor is Brenda Hawryluk with the assistance of Yellowhead West Pickleball players. Brenda Hawryluk holds an International Pickleball Teaching Professional Association (IPTPA) certificate.  She comes with a knowledge of pickleball and an incredible infectious passion for the game.   She plays at a high level of play both provincially and nationally.

Cost for this session is one play pass deduction for 2 hours of court time and a $20 fee.

NOVICE (new players just starting and newer players in their first 3 -4 months of playing)

INTERMEDIATE players who are more  experienced and would be evaluated at a 3.0 level 

ADVANCED players who would be evaluated at a minimum 3.5  level 

Based on the numbers of players in each group the session coordinator will assign the applicable courts and round robin sheet. To make the numbers work out more evenly between skill groups, the session coordinator may ask some players to play in a different skill group, up or down.

Each group of players will take their roster board and applicable round robin sheet out to the courts they have been assigned to by the session coordinator.

Playing

Players arrive a minimum of 15 minutes before start time on game day.  Being late will likely mean you have been bumped out of the session and not entered on a roster sheet. It is the players responsibility to  sign themselves up on the applicable level roster board.

Signing Up to Play

You sign up to play in the usual way through the YHW website, under "Events". You can sign up as soon as you receive your player session invite.

If you are unable to play and there are players on the waitlist for that session you must cancel your session yourself a minimum of 4 hours before the scheduled start time in order for waitlisted players to have time to come to the session. Late cancellations will incur a play pass deduction

Rated Play in a Round Robin format

Players attending will sign on to one of three boards corresponding to how you registered: (players are only allowed to signup for the rating level they currently have been evaluated at - proof of rating is required)
